The Bereavement Journey Course

About

Working through grief and the loss of a loved one takes a long time. The course is for anyone who has been bereaved, whether recently or dating back several years.

Topics covered include:

  • Attachment, separation and loss

  • How we cope with death in our culture

  • The pain of grief

  • Adjusting to change

  • The faith perspective (optional)

The next face to face courses will begin in September

The Bereavement Journey Course consists of seven weekly sessions and is usually held in my home in Hengistbury, Southbourne on a weekday morning or evening. During each session we watch a short video presentation and then share in discussion on the topic for the session. While many participants welcome the opportunity to share their experiences, some prefer to sit and listen: that is fine as there is no requirement to say anything in the sessions. I am the course host and leader and have many years experience in my practice both as a counsellor and as a specialist in bereavement counselling. I ask no charge for the course, but a voluntary donation of £10 is welcome to help cover the costs of the guest manuals which I bulk purchase and for the refreshments I make, usually hot drinks and cakes.
